Question: why the July 20th 1969 moon landing inspired you?

It is hard to say exactly why I was so moved by the moon landing. But, I think I saw it as a great adventure just like all the adventures I’d read in children books I’d borrowed from the library. But, this one was really happening and happening on the moon no less! I think, for 13-year old me, it was the most exciting thing in the world and I wanted somehow to be a part of it one day.
