No, never! What I regret sometimes is not having (or, truthfully, not taking) the time to do other things that I enjoy like drawing, playing the guitar, biking. Because I was a teenager in 1970s England, I grew up obsessed with rock music, especially rock guitar solos, and I regret not having taken the time over the decades since to improve my guitar playing. But, I guess it’s never too late!
I don’t think I ever regret my job but there are lots of times when it feels really tough and I don’t feel like I’m good enough to do it! Like a lot of people, I really struggle with what’s called “impostor syndrome” – this is where you feel like you don’t really deserve to be where you are and you feel like you kind of accidentally ended up there. I often have to remind myself of all the hard work I have done and what I have already achieved rather than focusing on the negatives – confidence in yourself is really important in anything you do 🙂
